Dometic Rooftop A/C
Dometic DuraSea Rooftop – for work boats
Here’s an A/C unit whose design and construction is so robust and solid that it’s virtually unaffected by inhospitable weather conditions at sea. With a cooling capacity of 15,000 BTU/h, Dometic’s DuraSea Rooftop Air Conditioner is the ideal cooling solution for supply vessels, patrol boats, and houseboats.
With a top plate made of .040 galvanized steel and a powder-coated base pan (15% thicker than comparable models), this A/C unit is all about heavy-duty quality. All fans and the coatings on the evaporator, condenser and compressor are corrosion-resistant. All refrigerant lines are made of copper.
The A/C unit, which is air-cooled, can be installed on any flat horizontal deck or rooftop location to cool the area directly below it. Located on the underside of the unit – which is accessible from the interior cabin – are the thermostat and fan controls as well as the return-air vent and two supply-air vents that blow in opposite directions for increased cooling capability. The three-speed highperformance fan works in cooling mode and in ventilation-only mode.
Despite its high performance level and rugged construction, this rooftop A/C unit weighs just 41.3 kg.
Strong L-brackets turn the motor, compressor and evaporator into a single vibration-free unit. This also stabilizes the compressor and prevents any unwanted “play” in the assembly.
